 Engineering Entrance Exams For UG Level Candidates

 Joint Entrance Exam(JEE) Main 

​

• Admissions To: The most prestigious national level engineering entrance to get into any one of the 23 IITs, 31 NITS, and 23 CFTIs. Some of the other engineering institutes or colleges, be it private or government, gives this entrance exam primary importance for admission purposes.

• Conducting Body: From this year, NTA( National Testing Agency) will be conducting this entrance examination in the place of CBSE.

• Times Conducted: It will be conducted twice a year( in January and April).

• Mode of Appearing: Online mode only.

• Level of Exam: National Level

 

Did you know? JEE Main is still considered to be one of the toughest engineering entrances. It was initially conducted as “Common Entrance Test” for admission to only IIT, Kharagpur, back in 1960s. Later on, it was changes into centralized entrance exam for admission to all the prestigious 23 IITs.

 Joint Entrance Exam(JEE) Advanced :

• Conducting Body: One of the IITs.

• Admissions To: For admissions to IITs, a candidate primarily needs to qualify JEE Main and then only will be eligible for applying JEE Advanced.

• Times Conducted: It will be conducted once around the second week of May.

• Mode of Appearing: Online Computer Based Mode

• Level of Exam: National Level

Did you know? JEE Advanced is considered to be the Phase 2 for admissions to IITs, after JEE Main. Though, JEE Main marks are considered for in some other colleges but JEE Advanced scores are considered in only IITs. While JEE Main marks provides admissions to UG level courses, JEE Advanced scores provides admissions to UG, PG and some Dual Degree Courses, as well.
